I’ve been to Buffalo several times and people will be friendly to my face but if they find out I’m from Hamilton, Ontario, they seem to get bitter.
Is this because a few Canadians didn’t put their trash in a garbage bin (anyone who watches WGRZ knows what I’m talking about) and now Western New Yorkers are generalizing Canadians? What’s the problem?
Harry K, you’re the anti Canadian American. I’m not sure why you’re so obsessed with answering every question from Canadians and insulting us but it’s ridiculous.

They are not rude to Canadians. They are just rude to you. Aren’t you generalizing all Western New Yorkers?
Edit:
OH Puhlezzze DK. Why are earth did you put such a question in an other US site. You are just being a troll and it’s against the YA TOS.
I’m from Connecticut, trust me we love canadian people here.
My neighbor was from alberta, canada
I think you’re gonna find nice people and rude people the world over.
But as an American who absolutely adores everything Canadian and traveled all the way from Washington, DC to Montreal, 1,000 kilometers (notice I didn’t use miles), just to buy a bottle of Alexander Keiths India Pale Ale and bring it back to show all my friends, I hope I make up for all the mean Americans in Buffalo, NY.
Now I just need to move to Buffalo to be a lead voice in defending the Canadians of Hamilton. Actually I’d like to visit Hamilton, Ontario also, if you guys will welcome me. I’m a different kind of American.
i think its more of a "friendly" cross border rivalry stemming back years and for alot of different things rather than deep seeded resentment….
—hockey wars between the 2 have been going on forever–sabres Vs. maple leafs, senaters,,and canadiens–you dont know how many sabres games i ‘ve been to when the crowd starts chanting "USA USA"; i also think the buffalo crowd despises when candien fans come into HSBC arena and wave the canadien flag–just a heated sports rivalry
—in the ’70′s buffalo was the cool place to hang out and toronto was a dump–in fact people from TO used to go to downtown bufflao(chippewa) to hang out and party and now its the other way around
—i think americans are bitter that the nicer half of the falls is on the canadien side
–now there is speculation of the Bills going to Toronto–you know how die hard B-Lo is of the bills so take that away and give it to canada and you can understand how they are a little upset
–i always thought the steretype that all canadiens have mullets was pretty funny; and i love the term "canadien tuxedo"–jeans and a jean jeacket worn together…
