It should not scratch. Pop the back off and check the internals. Better yet, take it to a jeweller and have it appraised. I found a Tag Heuer watch a few years back and thought I had a $ 3000.00 timepiece. WRONG! Opened it up and the internals were just cheap Japanese bits. There were no jewels in the movement and it certainly was not water resistant. And the crown ring had to be forced to move. Probably worth $20.00. Try to scratch the chrystal. It should not scratch.
