Good watch, but very difficult to set day and date. I still haven’t been able to do it.

I have searched for a long time for a day-date watch that would look good on my small male wrist. It wanted it to be moderately thin, also. I was first impressed by the detailed specifications, the photos of this model, solar battery, and price. I was not disappointed. I have received many compliments and it really does look great. I found it accurate to within one second per month- much better than specification. Two thumbs up!

On line reviews indicated some people felt the leather band was of low quality. It looks fine to me and having no battery will pay for itself since I rarely have gotten a watch battery to last more than one year. The price was less than the cost to repair my existing watch.

This is a handsome watch; good looking, compact and slim. In the month I have owned it, it has only lost two seconds–very accurate. Although I own other more expensive watches, this is easily my favorite. The band is shorter than most, but fits me just right.

Setting the watch initially, so that the day/date are in sync, was a bit tricky and not discussed in the instructions. I pass along this knowledge: Set the date/date in the morning hours. Roll the minute/hour hands forward until the day changes, THEN set all the time functions.

Citizen Eco-Drive Men’s Gold-Tone Leather Watch #BM8002-01P

The idea of a watch that never need a battery was appealing and environmentally correct. This watch was easy to set, just be sure to read the instructions first and don’t set it between 9 PM and 4 AM. The case is nicely finished, the face is not quite as bright as pictured, and so the watch has a more refined and elegant look. The band is listed as a mens, but it is slightly smaller than a standard size watch band. My wrist is not large, and the band is skimpy. I will probably buy another band sometime. If you have a larger wrist, you will need to purchase another band for this watch. Overall it is an attractive low maintenance watch at a competitive price. Great for travel, as I never have to worry about the battery dying. A great fashion accessory for dressy casual wear.
